Pasig City, Metro Manila — March 24, 2026 — TXTFIRE Philippines Foundation, Inc. and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) have formally entered into a strategic partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) aimed at enhancing disaster preparedness, response, and recovery efforts across Metro Manila.
The agreement was signed today by MMDA Chairman Atty. Romando S. Artes, CPA and Royce Gerik Chua, Executive Director of TXTFIRE Philippines, during a formal ceremony held in Pasig City.
The signing was witnessed by key local government officials, including Pateros Mayor Gerald German, Parañaque Mayor Edwin Olivarez, and members of the Metro Manila Council, along with TXTFIRE officers and members such as Vice President Jefferson Tiu, Secretary General Enrico Ryan Tan, Director Romy Chua, and members Jeffrey Alitagtag, Francis Perez, and Wason Victoria.
Under the agreement, both parties will collaborate in key areas including disaster prevention and mitigation, disaster preparedness, emergency response coordination, and post-disaster rehabilitation and recovery.
A major component of the partnership is the implementation of cross-training initiatives between MMDA personnel and TXTFIRE volunteers. These programs will focus on the operation, handling, and maintenance of emergency vehicles, equipment, and tools, with the goal of improving interoperability and coordination during critical incidents.
“This partnership is about strengthening our ability to respond faster, smarter, and more effectively during emergencies,” said Royce Gerik Chua, Executive Director of TXTFIRE Philippines. “By working closely with MMDA, we are aligning technology, volunteer networks, and government response systems into a more unified disaster management framework.”
TXTFIRE Philippines, known for its real-time fire alert system and strong network of volunteer responders, continues to play a vital role in supporting communities during fire incidents, natural disasters, and other emergencies. Through this collaboration, both organizations aim to deliver more efficient, coordinated, and impactful public safety services to residents of Metro Manila.
The agreement takes effect immediately and reflects a shared commitment to building safer, more resilient communities through cooperation, innovation, and service.
